88HotSpring  Resort is developed around the base of centuries old dormant volcano  – Mt. Makiling. Its perimeter is covered with wild forest. Experience the unwinding tranquility of  deep nature, and a breathtaking view of Laguna Lake, known as the biggest lake in the Philippines.

The source of  hot springs originated from the underground of Mt. Makiling volcanic geological springs 300 meters deep, at 99°C known as “Miracle Water” for hundred of years. It is odorless, clear bicarbonate water, and tested rich in organic minerals, which is believed to cure variety of illnesses.

Our property spreads approximately 100,000 sq. meters. Mount Makiling, also rarely Mount Maquiling, is located in the province of Laguna on the island of Luzon, Philippines. It is an inactive volcano, which rises to 1,090 m above sea level. Legends surround the mountain, many of which relate to Maria Makiling, said to be the ‘guardian fairy’ of the mountain. The contour of the mountain is said to be that of her in a reclining position.

The University of the Philippines, Los Baños is designated as the official caretaker of the mountain.

Rizal Shrine in Calamba is a reconstruction of the ancestral home of Calamba’s greatest son, Dr. José P. Rizal. The original house was destroyed during World War II, and through Executive Order No. 145 by President Elpidio Quirino, the house was restored through the supervision of National Artist Juan Nakpil. The only thing original in the structure is the flooring, which was dug up completely during construction.  The shrine was then inaugurated in 1950.

Today, the shrine serves as a museum containing memorabilias of Rizal’s earlier childhood. On the grounds is a statue of the boy Rizal and his pet dog. The lot is also where Rizal’s parents remains were transferred.
